Cleaning and maintenance of the glass top stove

The stove is a major kitchen appliance and the plates on its surface - the most used part. Sooner or later, every housewife separates from the true old stove and needs to choose a new one.
Entering the store, your eyes immediately stop on the glossy modern cooking surfaces. Are they really so beautiful, economical and easy to clean?
  • The glass ceramic is much more functional. Burners heat up quickly. Some types such as halogen and induction are used only in the glass-ceramic plates, equipped with sophisticated controls that allow more accurate adjustment of the heating. In the panels are built timers, indicators, touch keys, locks. Clean smooth and flat glass is easier and simpler than the cast iron plates.
  • The only enemy is sugar and solid bulk materials. Sugar is bad in any form - on crystals, syrup or jam. It sinters the surface and alters its physical structure, yielding indelible marks. So if it gets sugar on the work surface immediately wipe it with a damp cloth or sponge. Upper surface will not crack, rest assured! Just beware not to burn yourself. Bulk solids also scratch surfaces when you put them on the bottom of the pot or pan.
  • Cleaning is relatively easy: For very light dirt is enough to wipe it with a towel. For lightly soiled surfaces use a sponge soaked in detergent (just do not contain abrasive particles). For serious dirt and soot must take a sponge with a hard layer of plastic fibers and a special cleaner glass. If this does not help, then use scraper glass, which scrape the soot and sealed dirt. They have a blade of a metal that does not scratch the surface. After cleaning the hobs can be rubbed with a special supporting preparation which creates a protective layer of silicone on the surface against dirt and scratches.
  • Tips for maintenance of ceramic hobs: Enameled pots are not suitable for ceramic surfaces, because their bottom is not perfectly smooth. Do not use fireproof containers or clay, the hobs break with a sharp increase in temperature. If you constantly use aluminum containers, coffee for example, it’s possible that counters will turn white after time, and cleaning of the stove becomes very difficult.
Despite the peculiarities of their maintenance vitrified countertops are beautiful, economical, functional and easy to be sanitised. Include their maintenance in your regular domestic cleaning routine!
