The most dangerous things for kids around the house

Kids are fragile, we all know this. Most people think that protecting their child means only to keep it safe at home. But how safe is home indeed? Do you ever think of all the hazards, that you don’t see just because they are disguised as normal everyday objects?! Here is a short list of some of the most common items around your house, that can endanger your kid.

  • Extension cords are very dangerous if they are outdated or overloaded. Don’t put them under carpets and replace them in the very moment they start seeming unreliable (burnt or worn). And as extra reason for caution: kids and pets often try to chew cables, so take good care.
  • Tap Water Faucets are also dangerous. Scalds and burns from the hot water are great threat to your skin. Every time you use very hot water, turn the cold for a couple of seconds. This is not only dangerous for the kids, but also for the next person that will use the sink.
  • Toxic substances. These are all chemicals that you use at home or in your car – antifreeze, paint strippers and primers, etc. Keep an eye on the things that enter your door. Keep the hazardous chemicals in special secured locker or in a place, that kids can’t reach. And also remember that even some detergents, used by expert carpet cleaners, can be dangerous for kids with allergies, for example. So, be well-informed when you choose reliable cleaning company!
  • Heaters are also very common. If not well secured and maintained, they can cause fire or burnt, if a child reaches to touch them.
  • Humidifiers are potential danger if they are not clean. Bacteria and fungus can easily grow in it, so clean the tank regularly. Otherwise, they will disperse around the room and the growing lungs of your child are not something very resistant to such menace. Little people know that humidifiers can damage your respiratory system.
  • Stoves. Burn, electrocution or catching fire are only part of the things that can endanger your child’s health. Also they can grow bacteria in the dirty oven or around the burners and around the stove itself. Frequently there are grease stains that go even poisonous of not cleaned in time. The technique of oven steam sanitising is nearly the same as the one of steam carpet cleaning. Thus you will avoid contaminating the cooking spaces with chemicals. Also high steam temperature kills the bacteria and other microorganisms.
The secret of protecting your child at home is quite simple: take precautions. Put covers on the sockets. Keep the home clean. Replace in time all damaged electrical cables and appliances. It doesn’t sound so hard, right?
