How to lull your baby to sleep

For many moms lulling their baby to sleep is extremely difficult. The more time your child is awake, the more you feel tired. If that is your problem, then take a look at these useful tips:

  • More playing for the better sleep – when the kid is tired, he/she falls asleep quickly and easily. What is more, sleep is longer. So before going to bed make sure your child has used up all his/her energy, so both of you will sleep peacefully;
  • Faint light – if you are trying to lull the baby to sleep in the afternoon, then drop all curtains and blinds. That way the chances of the child to fall asleep become larger;
  • Ventilate the room – the fresh, rich in oxygen air will help you. So does the appropriate temperature. Neither too hot nor too cold, or in other words approximately 20-24 degrees is the ideal temperature for sleeping. In addition to the disinfected room, you have to maintain baby’s bed perfectly tidy, so the regular upholstery cleaning is essential;
  • Songs, tales and swinging. Those ones are common and well known to all moms, but however, there is no way not to mention them. If you are persistent, meaning that each evening, resort to the same lullaby, it will become a ‘sign’ for the baby that it is time to sleep;
  • Massage and taking a bath. These two things can easily put both adults and children to sleep. You may only caress the head or the back of your baby and you will be amazed by the rapid effect;
  • Noise from the vacuum cleaner, washing machine, hairdryer, and by the variety of noises sometimes lull the baby to sleep. So cleaning carpets, for instance, unexpectedly has one more advantage;
  • Pacifier – it calms and soothes baby, but use it rarely. By the time it may become a habit which is harmful for the child, because he/she doesn’t want to give up using the pacifier;
  • The favourite Teddy bear – every child has a favorite toy, which calms him/her and makes him/her feel comfortable in bed and fall asleep much easier;
  • Sleep after eating – you know how you feel sleepy when you are done with your meal. The effect of food on the baby is the same.
It is important to create bedtime rituals, so they will prompt the child that it is time for sleep. And then you will just forget about insomnia and fatigue.
