How to get rid of odours in furniture

It is not only about wiping and keeping the furniture away from little children’s sticky fingers or your favourite barbecue sauce. Save for cleaning, you need to maintain the furniture stylish and beautiful. And part of this not that easy process is making it smell fresh and nice. Of course, this task isn’t the easiest one, but, with few efforts and our professional help you will learn how to get rid of odours in furniture and maintain it hygienic for longer time:

  • Couches, armchairs and sofas. These pieces of furniture soak people’s body smell. And this is the least that you can actually cause to them. Add to these the smell coming straight from your kitchen (especially if you live in studio) and the one from the outdoors if you love airing your house. To reduce all these nasty aromas, simply wipe the furniture away with a mixture of denatured alcohol and water. If the materials are not too delicate, add some tea tree oil or lemon juice, too.
  • Cabinets, dressers and wardrobes. They are either made of wood, or of plastic. In both cases the storage in these pieces of furniture is various. So do the smells. The best way to eliminate the unpleasant fragrance is to keep cut-off orange peelings. Always! In case the smell is accidental and unbearable, remove it by spraying a remedy made of water and white vinegar.
  • Regular bad odour furniture control. Once you start your weekly home cleaning, simply sprinkle baking soda on the furniture. Then, vacuum it off, when you finish with the floors, rugs and doormats. If you repeat this task at least once a week, you may never even meet the unpleasant furniture smell.
  • Pet odour elimination. Naturally, you should probably begin with teaching your dog or cat not to pee on the furniture, but till then, try this. Wash the affected zone with some dish washing soap. Then, let it dry by opening all the available windows in the rooms. If you still feel the smell, repeat the procedure, but add some grapefruit juice inside your remedy. If you don’t succeed in eliminating this bad smell, ask the local cleaning professionals for help. They have access to stronger detergents and they use proven sanitising methods.
Now, when it smells and looks fine, your home furniture is perfectly treated and maintained!
