What to do if the wine cork breaks in the middle

Romantic music and blurred lighting. Precisely cooked homemade Italian dinner – in half done. The dessert is chilling in the fridge, but you and your personal love match prefer to skip it and have some nice wine...

Everything seems amazingly smooth and lovely, when suddenly... – you break the wine cork

Now what? First of all, have in mind that this may happen to everyone and it is not the end of the world. Neither the end of the date. Second of all – see what to do step by step:

* Firstly, don’t panic at all! Nothing serious or disastrous has happened. As a matter of fact, if you are on a date and this happens, a good self-ironic joke will make a good impression. Though, it could be better to avoid such things in case you are on a business meeting. However, even if it happens, stay cool and don’t lose hope to get that deal!
* In case the wine cork is still in the mouth of the bottle, don’t push it to the bottom! There is still a chance for you to get it out – so try your last best shots you have! Instead of that, use the corkscrew and start turning on the other side to get the cork out.

* In case the cork crumbles inside the bottom, don’t panic, either! Get a lovely jug or grab the most fascinating wine glasses you have and pour the wine by straining it. Of course, little pieces of cork should not be worrying you at all. They are not poisonous and they are harmless!

* If you don’t have cheesecloth at hand, we suggest you using the coffee filter!

* Collapsing with getting out the cork wine or breaking isn’t the worst thing that may happen to you! You may also be some clumsy that all of your efforts to lead to a breakage of the entire bottle. Spilling wine on your date is also possible! Better be aware of these faults...

* In case you make some spills, use the most popular carpet cleaning tips against red wine – some salt on the stain and then rinsing with cold water!

The best way to avoid breakages of the wine cork is to keep the wine in a lying position. Thus, the wine will wet the cork and it will be easier to be removed.
